How do you make Homemade BBQ Sauce?
Start by assembling all your BBQ sauce ingredients you’ll need for the recipe. Then add the ketchup, tomato sauce, apple cider vinegar, molasses, and light brown sugar to a pan over a medium heat and stir well until all the sugar has dissolved.
Next, add the remaining ingredients including black pepper, mustard powder, garlic powder, onion powder, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, water, lemon juice, and hot sauce. You need to let it simmer long enough for some of the liquid to reduce and for the sauce to thicken up.
Once made your Memphis style BBQ sauce can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week, or alternatively you could freeze it.
