Ingredients for Mango Salsa
- Mango – you need a fully ripe mango for this recipe. Don’t pick one that is still hard, or overripe.
- Red Onion – peeled and finely chopped, you only need a small amount to add flavor.
- Cilantro – separate the leaves from the stems and then finely chop it.
- Jalapeño – This recipe calls for one jalapeño but you can always add more if you like it a little hotter.
- Lime Juice – always use freshly squeezed lime juice, it tastes so much better! Don’t use bottled lime juice.
How to Serve Mango Salsa
We love to serve it as an appetizer with chips or homemade crackers. It also pairs perfectly as a side dish perfectly with grilled meat such as chicken shawarma, grilled lamb, or steak.
If you prefer grilled fish then you might want to try adding blackened seasoning to the fish and serving the salsa on the side, the flavors complement each other really well.
